The Queens District Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce its annual QDA Leadership Summer Internship Program!

This internship is designed to expose participants to various careers within the legal field while enhancing their workforce readiness skills. During the 6-week program, participants will be required to complete (3) service-learning projects and various other written assignments. The program is tailored for students between the ages of 15 – 17 and will start on Monday, July 6th and end on Thursday, August 13th, 2026.

The QDA Leadership Internship Program will be conducted Monday through Thursday, from 9:45am -1:45pm. Participants will be paid by direct deposit only and will earn $19.14 an hour for a 16-hour a week schedule. The majority of the program will be held in person with a select number of hybrid days. You will receive your first payment at the end of week four, July 31, 2026.

To be considered, you will need to submit and attach the following:

• QDA Leadership Summer Internship Program Application
• 300-word essay, please choose one of the following:

• What does being a leader mean to you?
• If you could make changes in your school or community, what would it be and why?
• Why is integrity important in leadership roles

All applicants MUST live in Queens. For onboarding purposes, it will be mandatory to provide your social security card, NYS Photo ID (Passport or DMV issued) and working papers if you are under the age of 18. You will also need to bring your completed direct deposit form – no exceptions.

Please be advised, prior to your start date, you will be given an on-site processing date, and you will need to have your fingerprints scanned at a designated off-site location.

This is a New York City agency; you will be required to complete a series of forms. These forms must be submitted 3 days before your processing appointment. The last processing appointment will be on Wednesday June 24, 2026. Our office must be notified that you have completed your fingerprinting processing by Wednesday July 1, 2026.
