The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is currently seeking applicants for a Senior Case Manager within our Diversion & Alternative Sentencing Bureau. This bureau provides a variety of clinical services to criminal justice involved individuals.
The Senior Case Manager will report to the Managing Supervisor of Diversion & Alternative Sentencing and will be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations of defendants and families and engaging in appropriate treatment planning.
- Carrying a caseload of serious/significant treatment court cases, including press cases.
- Serving as a liaison between Assistant District Attorneys, defense providers, the judiciary, and treatment providers.
- Appearing in court and providing status reports of defendants’ progress in treatment.
- Providing supportive case management services as needed, including crisis intervention, group facilitation, and short-term interventions.
- Maintaining appropriate records.
- Conducting presentations to ADAs, interns, and students.
- Assisting with coverage in Treatment Court Parts, including - but not limited to - liaising with treatment court providers, Trial Preparation Assistants, and Treatment Court Part stakeholders.
- Assisting case managers with daily tasks or questions.
- Participating in group and individual case manager meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting the Bureau Chief, Deputy Bureau Chiefs, and Managing Supervisor on special projects, including drafting, compiling, and/or analyzing reports, data, and briefings.
- Performing all other relevant duties as determined by the Managing Supervisor, Deputy Bureau Chief, Bureau Chief, and QDA executive staff.
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred in social or behavioral sciences and five years of experience working in treatment and/or criminal justice areas. Strong preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of experience in adolescent and substance abuse treatment; knowledge of treatment programs, treatment facilities, and the local criminal justice system.
All candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or its educational equivalent and must have a working knowledge of computers; Microsoft Office software; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Applicant information:
Salary Range - $73,000 - $78,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
