Job Description: The Queens County District Attorney's Office has an opening for an Assistant District Attorney in the Major Economic Crimes Bureau.

The goals of the Major Economic Crimes Bureau are to investigate and prosecute organized financial criminal activity; identify, seize, and forfeit sources of funding and criminal proceeds associated with these organizations; prosecute individuals who, by virtue of the quantity and/or type of contraband they possess, appear likely to be connected to organized criminal activity; and investigate and prosecute individual and organized perpetrators of a variety of cyber offenses. Members of this bureau and its specialized units are specially trained to investigate and prosecute a wide range of criminal activity, including identity theft, bank fraud, auto crime, commercial burglary and grand larceny rings, gambling, loan sharking, extortion, money laundering, dark web criminal schemes, and online possession and trading of child sex abuse materials. Our ADAs regularly employ electronic surveillance and other hi-tech techniques in our investigations, such as wiretapping, cell site tracking, GPS warrants, and crypto currency tracing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Managing complex investigations by providing legal advice and direction to our law enforcement partners;

Drafting various legal process, including wiretaps, CSOs, GPS warrants, and other documents;

Prosecuting offenders committing the above-mentioned offenses

All phases of litigation except appeals.

Qualifications: Interested applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing. Applicants must also have:

Experience in handling all aspects of a criminal investigation and prosecution.

Excellent writing skills and experience drafting search warrants.

Grand jury and felony trial experience.

Extensive knowledge of New York Penal and Criminal Procedure Laws.

Basic understanding of financial transactions, social media platforms, and the internet.

Must be willing to investigate and prosecute traffickers in child sexual abuse materials.

Ability to devise creative solutions to investigatory and legal issues.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $96,000 to $125,000.
