This Manager for the Office of the Queens County District Attorney will supervise in the office’s Felony Conferencing Bureau and run the Extraditions, Renditions, and Property Release Services Unit.
Job Description:
- Assist Bureau Chief in conferencing cases with ADAs, defense counsel and court for cases both calendared and advanced for disposition
- Review and approve plea offers and negotiated dispositions to ensure the disposition is both legal and appropriate
- Facilitate and coordinate felony dispositions with ADAs, defense counsel, the court and where applicable, the Alternative Sentencing Bureau
- Draft and review Superior Court Information documents, secure all required documents for disposition, and prepare and submit a complete package to the court and defense counsel after thorough review
- Review daily felony AP calendars to optimize the rate of disposition and supervise ADAs and support staff
- Draft and file new fugitive complaints, and extradition pickup orders. Manage rendition cases by working with custody management and supervising staff who appear in court
- Supervise the intake of all new extradition matters, and coordinate with the DA Squad and the detective investigators regarding all out of state trips
- Draft governor’s warrants for extradition from other states and international extradition packages for Department of Justice Office of International Affairs
- Coordinate with US Marshals on all international cases
- Supervise the processing of all property release demands
- Draft paperwork on Interstate Agreement on Detainer (IAD) cases; coordinate with pickup team, assigned ADA, NY IAD Administrator, warden of correctional facility where defendant is being housed, and Custody Management
- Assist Bureau Chief of Grand Jury Bureau to cover when they are out in reviewing indictments and all associated paperwork, ie., notices, finding slips, predicate statements, etc., preparing indictment paperwork for filing, scheduling grand jury presentments in all grand juries, and expediting the presentment and processing of grand jury matters involving hospitalized defendants
Qualifications:
- Must be an attorney with at least five years prosecutorial experience
- Should have felony trial experience as a prosecutor, and experience collaborating with law enforcement and other governmental agencies
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Must possess a thorough understanding of the prosecutor’s obligations pursuant to recent discovery reform legislation

Salary and title will be commensurate with experience. The salary range is from $101,000 to $175,000.
