The Queens District Attorney’s Criminal Court Bureau has an opening for a Supervisor.


For the Assistant District Attorneys assigned to this bureau, it is their first assignment with daily courtroom experience. The role of Supervisor in this bureau is crucial to their professional development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and supervise approximately 16 ADAs and support staff
  • Supervise the prosecution of misdemeanor and some felony matters
  • Review cases and make plea offers
  • Assist the ADAs in case management, caseload management, calendar appearances, as well as hearings, trials, motion practice and complying with discovery obligations
  • Compile documents to keep track of case assignments, case dispositions and dismissals, as well as cases to be certified
  • Create monthly calendars, scheduling ADAs for multiple court calendar appearances
  • Responsibilities may involve some work in evening hours

Qualifications: Interested applicants must possess a J.D. degree, and be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing. Applicants must also have:

  • Four years of experience as an Assistant District Attorney
  • Extensive knowledge of New York Penal and Criminal Procedure Laws
  • Experience collaborating with law enforcement and other governmental agencies
  • Strong organizational, written and oral skills
  • Ability to succeed in fast-paced high-volume environment
