Job Description:

The Queens County District Attorney's Office has an opening for a Managerial Position in Litigation Training. This position will be principally responsible for creating and implementing all legal training for a staff of approximately 400 assistant district attorneys, and to second seat Assistant District Attorneys in Felony Trials. This manager will report to the Director of Litigation Training and Legal Hiring.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The specific duties include but are not limited to:
  • Designing and coordinating orientation programs for new ADAs
  • Designing and coordinating trial training programs for ADAs at multiple levels of experience
  • Designing, coordinating, and teaching continuing legal education programs for entire professional staff
  • Designing and coordinating training for interns in conjunction with the recruitment office
  • Maintaining the office’s NY State CLE provider status including:
  • Complying with all CLE rules and regulations and attendance at CLE provider conferences
  • Conferencing cases for trial with assistant district attorneys
  • Second seating ADAs in hearings and trials

Education and Experience

  • JD Degree and member in good standing of the NY State Bar
  • US Citizenship and NY State residency required as of first day of employment
  • Minimum of ten years- experience in criminal trial and appellate practice
  • Extensive knowledge of NY State Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law
  • Teaching experience on the college or law school level
  • Management experience
  • Felony jury trial experience

Salary Range: $145,000 to $175,000.   Salary Commensurate with Experience.
