Description

The Queens County District Attorney’s Office is currently seeking applicants for a Clerical Assistant to help support the Office’s Intake Bureau. The Clerical Assistant will report to the Bureau’s Assistant District Attorney Supervisors and will be responsible for a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to:

  1. Assisting with data entry, document upload, and searching for information in the office’s Case Tracking System.
  2. Preparing statistical reports.
  3. Scanning, uploading, reviewing, and redacting documents.
  4. Physically transporting supplies.
  5. Physically locating and transporting case files between bureaus and buildings.
  6. Physically serving documents to both the courthouse and defense counsel located on Queens Blvd.
  7. Sending required email notifications, entering information into templates, and occasionally drafting letters/documents.
  8. Heavy phone coverage and back-up to other support staff as required.

Qualification Requirements

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma (or its educational equivalent) and must have the ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, and be able to lift and transport up to 30 pounds of documents. Must have working knowledge of computers and email. Applicants must be able to regularly work Tuesday through Saturday, 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., however, in some instances schedule changes and/or overtime may be required to complete certain tasks.


Strong preference will be given to candidates with prior clerical experience, including experience with data entry into computerized systems, handling documents of sensitive nature (filing, delivering, scanning, etc.), or the ability to fluently speak and/or write in Spanish.

Job Details: 
Salary Range: $38,712 - $40,000 (commensurate with experience)
