Description

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is seeking a Video and Photo Content Creator to produce and distribute high-quality videos and photos as well as other media content on its social media platforms and engage in community outreach with Queens County residents regarding Office activities and events.  The Video and Photo Content Coordinator will report to the Chief Public Information Officer.

The Public Information Department interacts with media and other constituencies about the workings and policies of QDA, Queens Criminal Court and the New York criminal justice system.   

The Public Information Department writes and distributes press releases about noteworthy arrests and cases, coordinates media events, fields and follows up on media inquiries, drafts remarks, and produces materials both on-line and in print that promote the services of the Office. The Department is responsible for multi-platform social media presence.  

The Department works closely with the Office’s Community Partnerships Division to enhance community relations and with various bureaus (e.g., Homicide, Human Trafficking, Housing & Worker Protection, Hate Crimes, Frauds) to connect their operations to the overall mission of the Office.

The Video and Photo Content Coordinator will develop video content for social media and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality creative video media and analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.   The Video and Photo Content Coordinator’s responsibilities will also include the following:

  • Serving as the lead video and photo content creator for the Office
  • Leading strategy, planning, and execution of video and photo content for social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter
  • Applying consistent messaging across the Office’s publications and digital resources
  • Producing social media reports
  • Attending and providing support at community events throughout Queens County
  • Performing other duties as requested by the District Attorney or Executive staff

Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public policy, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent professional experience a plus; 2–4 years of experience in social media management, digital content strategy or cross-channel campaign execution; Proven ability to develop content for diverse and multilingual audiences, with an understanding of accessibility and language access best practices;  Excellent communication and project management skills; Familiarity with New York City government, and civic engagement initiatives is highly desirable.

Knowledge of the following is also preferred:

- Digital Media Strategy: Understanding of platform-specific best practices for Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and other emerging digital channels.

- Social Media Analytics & KPIs: Knowledge of engagement metrics, performance benchmarks, and methods to evaluate content effectiveness.

- Content Planning & Editorial Practices: Knowledge of master and specialized content calendars and content planning around organizational goals.

Application Information:

Salary Range: - $85,000 - $95,000

The selected candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays/and or weekend hours based on the District Attorney’s needs.
