The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking applicants for a Case Manager Specialist within our Diversion & Alternative Sentencing Bureau. This bureau provides a variety of clinical services to criminal justice involved individuals.
The Case Manager Specialist will report to the Managing Supervisor of Diversion & Alternative Sentencing and will be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
- Reviewing comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations of defendants and families and engaging in appropriate treatment planning.
- Supervising Case Managers and Senior Case Mangers.
- Scheduling site visits with community-based organizations.
- Serving as a liaison between Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs), defense providers, the judiciary, and treatment providers.
- Appearing in court and providing status reports of defendants’ progress in treatment.
- Maintaining appropriate records.
- Conducting presentations to ADAs, interns and students.
- Assisting with coverage in the Felony Treatment Court Part.
- Performing all other relevant duties as determined by the Managing Supervisor, Bureau Chief, Deputy Bureau Chief and executive staff.
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
At least five years of prior experience in the treatment court or criminal justice field and/or at QDA. Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of prior supervisory experience required; Master’s degree highly preferred. Must have a working knowledge of computers; Microsoft Office software; and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Applicant information:
Salary Range: $78,000 - $82,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
