Description

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to design, implement and support web-based applications to aid in case tracking and processing. The Senior Application Developer will be part of QDA’s Information Services Bureau that includes a staff of 12 and serves an office of over 800 staff.

The Senior Application Developer’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop new dynamic, flexible web-based applications utilizing the Software Development Lifecycle
    • Applications developed will be secure, leveraging SSO and/or MFA where required and will be subject to internal software accreditation
  • Create and maintain flow diagrams and documents supporting written applications
  • Redesign existing client-server Visual Basic applications as web-based applications using C#
  • Create and implement APIs and web-services to be used by other applications in the agency
  • Work closely with Project Manager and Business Analysts to ensure applications are developed on-time and directly reflect the needs expressed by the business units
  • Use JSON/XML data sources for importing and exporting data with partner agencies, internal off-the-shelf applications, or our current production data store

Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and two years of satisfactory full‐time (not classroom-based) experience in computer applications development planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or
  2. A four‐year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full‐time (not classroom-based) information technology experience of which at least 2 years must have been as described in ʺ1ʺ above; or
  3. A master’s degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college may substitute for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have at least one year of satisfactory full‐time (not classroom-based) information technology experience as described in ʺ1ʺ above

Must have excellent communication skills and experience in handling confidential information.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who possesses a permanent New York City computer-related civil service title.

Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000
Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401K and more. Salary commensurate with experience.
