Description

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking a Maintenance Clerk to provide a variety of maintenance services including general cleaning of QDA workspaces, bathrooms, stairs, hallways, storage and supply rooms.   The Maintenance Clerk will be part of a Maintenance team within the Operations Unit that  includes a staff of 7 and serves an office of over 800 staff.

The Maintenance Clerk will perform the following job functions including, but not limited to:

  1. Trash removal.
  1. Cleaning bathroom facilities as well as replenishing bathroom supplies.
  1. Maintaining and cleaning blinds; furniture; water fountains and window sills.
  1. Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping office floors, corridors, and lobbies.
  1. Replacing bulbs and fuses; and occasionally, moving furniture or other items as needed.
  1. Removing snow from walkways when necessary.
  1. Assessing assigned work areas to ensure that safe conditions exist. Report any unsafe conditions as needed.
  1. Assisting with other maintenance duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Qualifications Requirements:

There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.  However, the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required. 

Must be a self-motivated and responsible individual with the ability to successfully work independently and the ability to regularly lift 25 lbs. or more.

Starting Salary: $37,584 (Commensurate with experience)
