The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is currently seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant position to help support the Career Criminal Major Crimes Bureau (CCMCB). The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to:
- Answering the telephone for the Bureau and Deputy Bureau Chiefs;
- Maintaining case files and drafting reports, as required;
- Collecting, tracking, reporting and filing trials completed by Bureau Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs);
- Compiling case and court information from Bureau ADAs for meetings with the District Attorney;
- Logging, scanning and distributing motions to ADAs;
- Preparing and distributing case reports to Executive staff;
- Editing and electronically filing investigative activity reports pertaining to criminal incidents, arrests, search warrants and subpoenas written and issued by ADAs;
- Maintaining inventory of office supplies;
- Managing office equipment and maintenance;
- Managing and submitting Bureau timesheets;
- Assisting with other clerical duties, as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have at least a high school diploma (or its educational equivalent). Candidates should have strong computer skills and must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The candidate should also have excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
Applicants must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree, prior clerical experience, including experience with data entry into computerized systems, handling documents of sensitive nature (filing, delivering, scanning, etc.).
Salary Range: $48,000 - $51,000
