The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Manager to oversee the cleaning and maintenance of QDA’s five office locations. The Building Maintenance Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of eight maintenance staff and will perform the following job functions including, but not limited to:
- Overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of each QDA office location.
- Assigning housekeeping duties to staff and ensuring that work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Scheduling employee shifts to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Responding and following up on any housekeeping issues or complaints.
- Organizing and ensuring housekeeping supplies are stocked at each office location.
- Conducting regular inventory of supplies in all office locations.
- Performing various housekeeping duties, as needed, when staff shortages exist.
- Overseeing work order submissions and efficient completion of tasks.
- Coordinating with the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) and outside vendors on projects, as required.
- Performing other maintenance-related tasks, as assigned by supervisor.
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Must be a self-motivated and responsible individual with the ability to successfully work independently and the ability to regularly lift 25 lbs. or more.
Candidates having familiarity with operating floor cleaning machines, buffing machines, as well as painting, carpentry and other maintenance-related tasks is preferred
Applicants must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., however, in some instances schedule changes and/or overtime may be required.

Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
