Description

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is seeking applicants for a Human Resources (HR) Receptionist/Assistant to support our Human Resources and Payroll Services Unit. The HR Receptionist/Assistant will be responsible for assisting with a variety of human resources processes and procedures including, but not limited to:

  • Greeting all visitors to the Administration Department in a professional manner
  • Managing and answering the HR phone line and routing calls to the appropriate staff
  • Managing the conference room calendar using MS Outlook
  • Scheduling appointments and serving as the first point of contact for the onboarding of new staff and interns
  • Verifying appointments and ensuring timely correspondence and appropriate follow-up with internal staff and/or external candidates
  • Assist the HR team with day-to-day operations
  • Making new entries into the QDA Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in preparation for onboarding
  • Preparing employee/intern files and printing all documents prior to onboarding appointments
  • Updating and editing various Excel tracking sheets   
  • Assisting with organizing, filing, maintaining, and scanning employee personnel files
  • Scanning confidential documents   
  • Ordering supplies for the HR Team  
  • Assisting the Senior HR Generalist and HR Director with special projects, as requested
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:

High school diploma and at least one year of experience performing human resources administrative duties or equivalent education and/or experience.  Candidate must have working knowledge of computers and email, excellent oral, written communication and organizational skills; and the ability to maintain confidentiality. 

For current City employees, a permanent civil service title is highly desired.

Strong preference will be given to applicants with advanced Excel and PDF form creation knowledge, and familiarity with Citywide HR systems such as the New York City Application Personnel System (NYCAPS).   Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Application Information:

Salary Range: $48,000 - $52,000
