The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is currently seeking an Investigative Accountant to conduct financial and related economic crimes investigations aimed at protecting the community from fraud, abuse, and other related criminal activity. The Investigative Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks in support of ongoing financial investigations including, but not limited to:
- Conducting confidential economic/financial crime investigations and prosecutions
- Gathering documentation and evidentiary material in support of economic/financial crime investigations
- Conducting detailed analysis of business records, bank records, credit card records, and other financial records related to ongoing investigations and prosecutions
- Preparing Excel spreadsheets and records for use in investigations, prosecutions and trials
- Present financial evidence and testimony to a grand jury or trial jury
- Advising Assistant District Attorneys and Executive staff on the development and results of economic/financial crimes investigations
- Conducting investigations with outside agencies including the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as banking and credit card institutions
- Performing other duties as requested by Executive or Assistant District Attorney staff
Qualification Requirements:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college with a major in Accounting, and (6) years of full-time paid professional accounting or auditing experience; or a satisfactory equivalent.
- Certified Public Accountants or Certified Fraud Examiners preferred but not required.
Job Details:
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000. Salary commensurate with experience.
