The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking a Timekeeper to support its Human Resources and Payroll Services Unit. The Timekeeper will report to QDA’s Supervisor of Time and Leave and will be responsible for a variety of timekeeping functions including, but not limited to:
- Receiving, organizing and maintaining confidential timekeeping documents including timesheets, supporting documentation and other related material.
- Entering timekeeping data into the CityTime system and reviewing leave or other requests for consistency with New York City and/or QDA policies.
- Creating and maintaining an organized and complete timekeeping file for assigned employees through scanning and appropriate storage of documents.
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding leave balances, appropriate procedures or other related matters via phone, email or in person.
- Conferring with supervisors as required to ascertain approvals for submitted requests and/or special circumstances.
- Assisting in running reports, processing timekeeping data for payroll calculation and other duties relating to timekeeping, recordkeeping, and general HR-related inquiries, as required.
Qualification Requirements:
High school diploma and at least one year of experience performing clerical, timekeeping and/or payroll duties or the equivalent education and/or experience. Must have working knowledge of computers and email, excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational ability.
For current City employees, a permanent civil service title is highly desired.
Strong preference will be given to applicants with experience in timekeeping, including experience with New York City systems including PMS, CityTime and CHRMS. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Application Information:
Salary Range: $50,000 - $57,000
